There are two overarching questions at play when considering the intersection of IP and AI. While these questions are clear, the answers are less so. The first question is origination as a source of rights. The second is infringement by the machine at the input and output levels. Both questions can and should be broken down into sub-questions. In this article, I unpack the questions and suggest possible answers. The article will explore both questions sequentially.
