A significant culture shift is needed to resolve the two key problems. Two intuitively powerful assumptions must be repudiated by executives, supervisory board members and shareholders. The question remains about the exact role currently played by company law in executive compensation at listed companies, and what contribution company law could make to resolving the two key problems identified. The third part of my research concentrates on this role.
