Online services for Customs: NCTS, AES and PoUS (comments by Piet Jan de Jonge)

The EU has introduced new and improved online services for customs. These services include the new Automated Transit System (NCTS), the Automated Export System (AES) and the Proof of Union Status System (PoUS). The objectives of these digital systems are to improve the management of goods under Union law and common transit, to support the export of goods from the Union and to improve the standardisation of administrative information between economic operators and customs authorities.
