The evaluation of the board is addressed in the SCCG, but rather briefly. The evaluation must focus on the board and should be conducted annually by means of a systematic and structured process. The SCCG does not give recommendations about how the evaluation should be performed, such as by external evaluators. Furthermore, the results should be disclosed to the nomination committee, but there are no requirements for disclosing the methodology in the annual report. The methodology and disclosure can be improved and this means that evaluation is not a strong element of the preconditions building block of independence in Sweden.
