The supervisory board should evaluate its own functioning and that of its board committee and individual members at least once a year. The report of the supervisory board should have a section about how this evaluation process has been carried out. The DCGC does not give any recommendations about external evaluations, which is a weak point in this preconditions building block of independence. In order to improve the evaluation procedure in the Netherlands, requirements with respect to external evaluations should be included.
