On 4 October 2022, the European Parliament (EP) approved a resolution on the impact of new technologies on taxation calling on the European Commission to put forward a legislative proposal on the issue. The EP highlights the leading role of the EU institutions in ensuring coordination and cooperation between the Member States to facilitate the implementation of blockchain technologies and tax crypto-assets in a fair and transparent way.
