The nomination committee has the responsibility to nominate directors to serve on the unitary or dual board of the company (Petra 2005: 58). The nomination committee is charged with the task to evaluate the size, diversity, balance of skills, independence and experience; these evaluations should be considered when appointing a new member of the board (Financial Reporting Council 2010: 14). Furthermore, the nomination committee establishes transparent selection procedures, which should be respected (OECD 2004: 61-62). The nomination committee is also referred to as selection committee.
