7.2.4 The independence criteria and their application

This subsection addresses the issue about the independence criteria. This is important for the discussion about independence, because the independence criteria are used to determine the independence of a supervisor. Supervisor refers here to NEDs in a British unitary board structure. In addition to director independence, the board composition requirements, board committee composition requirements and other independence recommendations of the UKCGC are elaborated upon. These subjects are described below.
