The EU accession of central and eastern European member states triggered the development of new policy initiatives. One example is the EU-funded project “Accelerating CSR in New Europe” (February 2008) funded by the European Commission and United Nations Development Program. For this project “cross- sectoral cooperation and social dialogue between various stakeholders” can help to demonstrate the importance of CSR.1
