I have demonstrated that it is possible to empirically analyse the manner in which courts reach decisions. I have tried to model legal decision-making in a complex and unstructured legal environment. However, legal modelling only makes sense if the model is valid from multiple perspectives and does not merely provide a mathematical formula to predict court decisions.1 After all, courts do not apply mathematics to determine a director’s personal liability.
