The conclusions of this study provide governments and companies with valuable insights into which interventions could be implemented to overcome the identified barriers. It teaches governments that quotas can be a fast means for changing the number of women on corporate boards, but also that quotas will not remove the barriers to women’s advancement. The research also provides valuable insights for organizations to learn which interventions could be implemented to overcome barriers and which interventions are not particularly relevant for overcoming barriers.
